Wedding place setting ideas for a warm and welcoming reception
by Stephanie

Once your guests have moved on from the wedding ceremony, they'll be ready to party! But first: dinner. Many wedding reception decor focuses around the dinner table, and for good reason! A well-decorated table can create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests to settle in and enjoy a meal together. One of my favorite ways that brides and grooms are choosing to decorate their wedding tables is with individual place settings, where each seat has a special detail. Whether these double as favors or are purely decorative pieces is up to you — but your guests are sure to be delighted to find a sweet treat waiting for them at the dinner table!

But what to chose? Much of this will depend on your wedding theme, and the vibe you'll want to create with the table decor. We've rounded up some of our favorite wedding place setting ideas to help heighten the atmosphere of your reception. Which of the below will be your favorites?

Gourmet treats

For the foodie couple or for a wedding with a certain dinner-party panache, a gourmet treat could be the perfect place setting before the dinner course is introduced. We love the idea of doing rustic bread loaves, gourmet olive oil or even a personal cheese board!

Fruit

What's fresher and prettier than a piece of fruit? Answer: nothing! Fruit is a fun and colorful place setting, and can be especially perfect in the summer months when many delicious varieties are in season.

Flowers & herbs

Nothing is more classic for wedding decor than flowers — so why not use them to dress up your guests' place setting? We love the idea of making it unique with dried flowers, herbs, or succulents!

Fun trinkets

Maybe your wedding has a specific and somewhat quirky theme? Perfect! Incorporating it into your tablescape is even easier with a personalized place setting. These fun couples used dinosaur figurines, boho buddha decor and more...
